Based in Seattle Washington, Forthun+Rome is a new dance endeavor to create beautiful, memorable, and intellectual art. The company has produced a video series, holds open class, and performs around Seattle with original works created by CarliAnn and Ethan.
We are dedicated to creating a continuous cycle of dance, and to us, that means putting in what we expect out; artistically, emotionally, and financially. We are artists, but we are business minded, we will provide fair wages, and pursue the highest caliber art and business.

is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. His dance is an investment in the human, focusing on flow, release, and grounding. Movement is a key point in his choreography, delving into the intricacies of what is possible. He graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in Dance, Psychology, and Entrepreneurial Management. He has trained with many talented professionals including George De La Peña, Nicholas Leicther, Lisa Gonzales, Jennifer Kayle, Esther Baker-Tarpaga, Mario Zambrano, Alan Sener and many more.
He has danced with the Khambatta Dance Company for over two years, he has also danced for the Seattle Opera, and various other projects. Ethan has taught at workshops around the world and he currently teaches dance at Glass House Dance. He has choreographed for Kayle+Company, the University of Iowa, the All Out Kids, the Chelsea Ballet, and the Khambatta Dance Company. His work has been featured at the Seattle International Dance Festival, in 2016, "Caelistis Unbound" was commissioned by Case Van Rij, and in 2017 he received Velocity's Bridge Project Choreographic Residency.
is a professional dancer that has performed in Mexico, Brazil, Canada, India, Lithuania, and the United States. Forthun graduated from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor Kinesiology. She trained with Rob Kitsos, Judith Garay, Marla Eist, Meghan Walker-Straight, Cheryl Prophet, Peter Bingham, and many more. CarliAnn performed in the Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. In 2012, CarliAnn co-founded KinDance, a healthy dancer resource that provides education to dancers and movers in cross training, basic nutrition, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. In 2013 Forthun made the move to Seattle, since then she has enjoyed dancing with Khambatta Dance Company, Intrepidus Dance, 127th St. Dance Company, and various other
projects. During Intrepidus Dance’s 2015-16 season, CarliAnn also took on the role of community outreach coordinator, it was here she helped facilitate partnerships between Intrepidus Dance and charitable causes in the Seattle and Global communities. She also teaches and choreographs for Broadway Bound Children’s Theater and Gymnastics East. CarliAnn is excited to create new work which she hopes will reveal to observers new dimensions of their humanity.
